On Mariahilfer Straße in Vienna, at Neubaugasse, an existing multi-storey building with a characteristic curved corner façade is undergoing extensive renovation. MIT Gerüstbau deliberately chose the RINGER double railing scaffolding system – a system that impresses in terms of efficiency, safety and adaptability.
Perfect adaptation to building architecture
The architecturally sophisticated façade geometry and the high-traffic inner-city location required a particularly flexible and safe scaffolding system – this is exactly where the RINGER double railing scaffolding system shows its strengths. Thanks to the high system flexibility, the scaffolding structure could be easily adapted to the contour of the building, including the rounded corner façade. A cantilevered façade projection in the upper area was created precisely and in accordance with standards using extension brackets.
Thanks to its quick assembly and wide range of extension options, the RINGER double railing scaffolding is the ideal solution for complex inner-city renovation projects. The robust steel frame construction ensures reliable use over long periods of time.
Despite the ongoing construction work, access to the shops remains guaranteed at all times. Additional lattice girders were placed above the area of a shop entrance to create a support-free passageway.
At the same time, shorter field lengths (0.65 m & 1.00 m) were used above this area so that an existing advertising board could be kept clear.
The pedestrian passage integrated into the lower section ensured safe and unobstructed passage for pedestrians – a must in one of Vienna's busiest shopping streets. The passage scaffolding was constructed using a modular design, allowing it to be flexibly adapted to the local conditions – quick to assemble, stable and optimally combinable with the existing façade scaffolding.
The RINGER aluminium platform with flap and ladder was used to access the higher working levels. This ensures comfortable, non-slip ascent within the scaffolding. With dimensions of 2.50 x 0.60 m, the platform offers sufficient space for safe ascent and descent.
The permanently mounted ladder is secured with a snap lock and ensures a stable footing. Castors on the underside also facilitate handling when inserting the ladder. The RINGER aluminium platform is available either as a full aluminium version or with a robust screen-printed plate – depending on the requirements in terms of weight, weather resistance or material properties.
Stable throughout the winter
The RINGER double railing scaffolding was fully planned throughout the winter months to ensure smooth construction progress regardless of weather conditions. Only one area was deliberately left out to allow for the ongoing delivery of materials without any problems. Each frame was anchored in accordance with regulations to ensure maximum stability throughout the entire installation period.
