ECM-Group new building: RINGER DEKplus slab table in use
Project data
Country: Austria
Application: Slab
Building owner: ECM-Engineering GmbH
Construction company: Wiesinger Bau GmbH

In spring 2024, the new company headquarters of the ECM-Group, a leading expert in labelling technology, was completed in Thalheim. The modern building promotes a pleasant working atmosphere thanks to its light-flooded rooms and houses Austria's most advanced machinery with LED UV drying for first-class label printing.
Slab table for suspended building section
As the contractor, Wiesinger Bau GmbH opted for the new DEKplus slab table from RINGER for the construction of a part of the building that appears to be floating.
The challenge was to integrate the weight of the lower, freely cantilevered 50 cm thick concrete slab (surface weight 1250 kg/m²), including the 26 cm thick cement-bonded EPS recycled granulate insulation boards inserted into the formwork and embedded in the concrete, as well as the mass of the side wall panels into the slab formwork. These loads had to be supported until the slab at the very top, which was only completed later, took over this task.
The resulting heavy weight was absorbed by up to eight floor props per DEKplus slab table. Thanks to the maximum flexibility of the connection points between the prop heads and the table, this posed no problem.
The enormous room height required the use of slab props with a maximum extension length of 5.50 metres.
The large DEKplus panels measuring up to 540 x 225cm meant that particularly fast shuttering times were possible. Fitting areas were levelled out with AluDEK support rails, smaller AluDEK elements and formwork panels.
To provide the necessary fall protection, the side protection could be attached quickly and without tools directly to the side holes of the DEKplus formwork using guardrail shoes.
The slab construction of this part of the building is finally supported by 4 conical columns, which were moved in advance.
